18 de febrero de 2012. Colectivo Bunka está dando pequeños grandes pasos al explorar más allá de las fronteras culturales, sociales, físicas e incluso virtuales, a través del ciberespacio, con nuestra propuesta cultural y musical, donde Oriente se encuentra con Occidente.

Para los chinos, el 2012 es el año de la innovación y de generar cambios y proyectos ya que el animal regente es el dragón. Así, Colectivo Bunka le apuesta a dos grandes nuevas ideas, sin importar las barreras ya mencionadas.

Para inicios de este año arrancó el Extreme Fashion Week, un creativo certamen para visibilizar el binomio entre arte y moda. Una vitrina internacional que exhibe diversos artistas, diseñadores, creativos, modelos y expertos en moda y arte oriental mezclados con una gran audiencia amante de las tendencias populares japonesas y asiáticas cuyo número de fans sigue creciendo con más fuerza en Latinoamérica. Este proyecto estará realizándose de forma paralela en dos emblemáticas ciudades: Bogotá y Santiago. Para la primavera de abril arrancarían en ambos países; el evento en Chile cuenta con el apoyo de Outre-Mer Blue, a cargo de Zelda Satine y Massiel Raguileo, dos talentosas jóvenes que trabajan para que esto sea una realidad desde la Internet y las redes sociales, al igual que los miembros del colectivo en Colombia con el mismo ahínco exitoso que se espera ser duplicado en otras ciudades importantes, no sólo en Latinoamérica sino en otras pasarelas internacionales.

Sin duda alguna el segundo pequeño gran paso nos llena de orgullo y de nuevos retos. Bunka, Sonidos de Oriente regresa a la radio online, pero ahora desde nuestros propios servidores. Así es. Colectivo Bunka Radio cultural Online es la nueva emisora que estará sonando por el ciberespacio, gracias al apoyo constante de Listo Multimedios, quienes siguen creyendo en esta propuesta cultural desde el 2010.

En estas líneas queremos hacer una pausa para, no sólo agradecer a nuestros colegas y amigos mexicanos de J-Music Revolution Radio, a quienes nos acogieron como hermanos sino además dejar nuestras puertas abiertas para perpetuar esta mutua colaboración entre dos medios, por lo que hemos desarrollado una gran amistad y una fuerte alianza en la que, bajo una sola meta estamos trabajando sin descanso. A ellos, infinitas gracias tanto para su director, Orisha Radical y su equipo humano quienes nos apoyaron durante el 2011. Ahora, como emisora por Internet estaremos más juntos que nunca al compartir información y experiencias; por todo ello, les enviamos muchos éxitos desde la tierra del café.

Se espera para mediados de febrero la emisión inaugural de Colectivo Bunka Radio cultural Online. Nuevos programas estarán apareciendo poco a poco en nuestra parrilla de programación, cuya emisión se realizará los 7 días de la semana (de 6:00 a.m. hasta la medianoche), huso horario de Colombia; otra principal novedad dela emisora online es contar con DJ’s de Estados Unidos y Brasil por el momento. Así, rompiendo paradigmas y llegando a una mayor audiencia global, las expectativas son muy alentadoras.

Al cierre de esta edición, los programas que estarán sonando en Colectivo Bunka Radio cultural Online son:

- Soul Option: The Spirits of the Voices: conducido por Paciente 3 sobre temas de la espiritualidad y la música New Age tanto de Asia como del resto del mundo. Un recorrido del World Music en la Internet.

- IndieCopter: dirigido por Duvan Prada, especializado en la música indie japonesa.

- La Fortaleza: producido y dirigido por Wolf, dedicado a los sonidos más extremos de Asia y Occidente.

- Nippon No Sekai: a cargo de Kouta-San, en el que se hablarán de las novedades del mundo cosplay y de las convenciones de anime en todo el mundo así como el aporte de Japón en nuestra cultura hispana.

- Gimme Culture: espacio realizado por John Genzale, totalmente en idioma ingles quien nos llevará a conocer lo más destacado de la escena japonesa para la audiencia anglosajona.

- J-Radio México: bajo la batuta de Draker Ruiz acerca de las novedades y noticias de la escena J-music en el país azteca.

February 18, 2012. Colectivo Bunka is taking small-long steps to explore beyond cultural, social, physical and even virtual borders, through cyberspace, with our cultural and musical proposal, where East meets West.

For the Chinese, 2012 is the year of innovation and change and a project because the animal is the dragon ruler. So you bet Collective Bunka two great new ideas, regardless of the barriers mentioned above.

By the beginning of this year started the Extreme Fashion Week, a creative contest to draw attention to the blending of the art and fashion. An international showcase that exhibits various artists, designers, creatives, models and fashion experts and mixed oriental art with a large audience lover of Japanese and Asian popular trends in number of fans continues to grow stronger in Latin America. Colectivo Bunka entrevistó a PlasticZooms, quienes están promoviendo su más reciente disco, con miras a que sean apreciados en Latinoamérica. - Colectivo Bunka got an interview with PlasticZooms, who they promoting their latest album, with a view to be appreciated in Latin America.

Shibuya, finales de 2006. Entre imágenes y sonidos urbanos de este agitado barrio tokiota, Sho Akasawa se atrevió a grabar y lanzar un demo llamado Love. La amalgama musical entre lo excéntrico y lo contrastante del post-punk llevó a que tres años después, su primer sencillo de 7 pulgadas llamado Under/Black, fuera un abrebocas para que este zoológico musical obtuviera un espacio en la escena musical japonesa con su álbum debut Charm, lanzado el 7 de julio de 2009. PlasticZooms es de esos grupos que se reinventan y no temen al cambio. Con una nueva alineación, compusieron una serie de temas, cuyo resultado es su segunda y reciente producción, Starbow (lanzado el 1º de noviembre de 2011), con su actual casa disquera Magnetic Records. En este Año del Dragón, PlasticZooms sueña con llevar su performance fashion musical a otros lugares del mundo, en el que, en palabra de Shinpei Morishige (su tecladista) les encantaría presentarse en algún rincón de Latinoamérica. No en vano (de hecho casi todos los grupos entrevistados por nosotros lo han señalado como referencia musical) alaban a los brasileros Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS), junto con su influencia británica de los años 80, visible en su melodía. PlasticZooms se complementa con las cuerdas de Taiyo Ikeda, la baterista Yuta Kurata y el bajo de Jun Yokoe.

Colectivo Bunka. Muchas gracias por atender esta entrevista para Colombia y Latinoamérica. Brevemente, ¿cómo se reunieron para tocar juntos?

Shinpei Morishige. Gracias por darnos la oportunidad de hacer esta entrevista. Después de lanzar nuestro primer álbum Charm, Sho, el cantante de PlasticZooms, empezó a buscar nuevos miembros para el segundo álbum “Starbow”. Nos conocimos una noche en un club, entonces nos hemos empezado a reunirnos de alguna manera con frecuencia y así tocar juntos.

C. B. ¿Cómo nació el nombre de la banda? ¿Qué significa el símbolo de la estrella en la banda?

S. M. En cuanto al significado del símbolo, queremos dejar que los oyentes hagan sus propias conclusiones. Ustedes pueden imaginar y sentir como deseen el significado de nuestro nombre y nuestro símbolo.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son tus mayores influencias musicales?

S. M. Todos tenemos diferentes influencias. En mi caso, la música clásica y la música pop de la década de los 80 de los EE. UU. y del Reino Unido.

C. B. ¿Qué temas te inspiras para componer las canciones de PlasticZooms?

S. M. Sho escribe toda la música y las letras. Él dice que todas las letras fueron escritas con inspiraciones de su vida personal. A veces, el amor inspira algunas de nuestras canciones.

C. B. En la historia PlasticZooms, ¿cuál es el concierto más importante que nunca olvidarán?

S. M. Cada uno de los espectáculos fue muy importante para nosotros, y nunca los olvidaremos.

C. B. ¿Cómo ves actualmente el J-rock y la escena musical independiente en todo el mundo?

S. M. Actualmente las redes sociales (SNS –Social Network Systems-) pueden ayudar a los creadores de muchas maneras. Podemos darle nuestra música a toda la gente en todo el mundo con esta gran posibilidad. Cada vez hay más músicos que están entusiasmados con esto para seguir adelante con algo nuevo para promocionarse.

C. B. ¿Conoce o ha escuchado cualquier banda o músico de América Latina? (Si su respuesta es no, ¿qué le gustaría saber de Latinoamérica acerca de su música?)

S. M. Me gusta CSS, Bonde de Role de Brasil y Juana Molina de Argentina.

C. B. ¿Cuál es la relación que tiene lo visual y el vestuario con su música?

S. M. Tanto la música y el vestuario son muy importantes para nosotros en términos de expresión. Siempre nos vestimos de negro, pero en nuestra música queremos ofrecer numerosos colores, como se puede notar en nuestro álbum “Starbow”.

C. B. En pocas palabras, háblenos de su más reciente producción Starbow, al igual que sus expectativas con sus fans y el proceso de composición.

S. M. ”Starbow” es un álbum que tiene una serie de aspectos significativos sobre nuestros diferentes tipos de arte (o nuestro gusto hacia el arte), como un arco iris en el espacio exterior.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus planes para este año? (2012)

S. M. Vamos a lanzar un nuevo álbum y esperamos algunas giras tanto en Japón como en el extranjero. Por favor miren nuestro actualizado sitio web, encontrarán mucha información.

C. B. Nuevamente, muchas gracias por esta entrevista y nos gustaría que enviaran un saludo a nuestros oyentes en Colombia y América Latina.

Shibuya. In the end of 2006. Between images and sounds of this busy urban neighborhood in Tokyo, Sho Akasawa dared to record and release a demo called Love. The musical amalgam between the eccentric and a post-punk contrasting got a result in three years later, his first 7 inch single called Under/Black, was an appetizer for this musical zoo won a place in the Japanese music scene with his album debut, Charm, released on July 7^th, 2009. PlasticZooms is one of those groups that are reinvented and not fear to change. With a new lineup, they have composed a number of play songs, resulting in his second and latest production, Starbow (released on November 1^st 2011), with his current label Magnetic Records. In this Year of the Dragon, PlasticZooms dreams with take your performance of musical fashion elsewhere, which, in the words of Shinpei Morishige (keyboardist) would love to be in some corner of Latin America. Not surprisingly (in fact almost all the groups we have interviewed pointed like as music reference) praise the Brazilians Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS), together with their British influence of the 80, visible in its melody. PlasticZooms is complemented by the strings of Taiyo Ikeda, Yuta Kurata (drummer) and Jun Yokoe (bassist).

Colectivo Bunka. Thank you very much to attend us in this interview for Colombia and Latin America. (Briefly), how did you meet to play together?

Shinpei Morishige. Thank you for giving us a chance to do this interview. After releasing our first album “Charm”, Sho, singer of PlasticZooms, started to look for new members for the 2^nd album “Starbow”. We met at a club one night, and then somehow we started to meet often and play together.

C. B. As born the name of the band, which means the star used as a symbol?

S. M. As for the meaning to the symbol, we rather like to leave it up to the listeners. All you guys can imagine and feel the meaning of our name and symbol as you like.

C. B. What are your biggest music influences?

S. M. We all have different influences. For me it is classical music and pop music back in 80s from USA and UK.

C. B. What inspires Plasticzooms topics to compose?

S. M. Sho writes all the music and lyrics. He says all the lyrics were written with inspirations from his personal life. The love inspires some of our songs sometimes.

C. B. In the Plasticzooms history, what is the most important concert that you never forget?

S.M. Each one of shows were very important for us, and we will never forget them all.

C. B. How do you see Japan rock and Indie music scene around the world in the present day?

S. M. SNS -Social Network Systems- can help creators in a lot of ways today. We can deliver our music to people all around the world with SNS. More and more musicians are excited about this and trying to get on with something new.

C. B. Did you know or did you listen any Latin American band or musician? (If your answer is no, what would you like to know of Latin America about your music?)

S. M. I like CSS, Bonde de Role from Brazil and Juana Molina from Argentina.

C. B. What is the relationship you have with your music and visuals costumes and clothes?

S. M. Both music and clothes are very important for us in terms of expression. We always dress in black but in our music we wish to deliver numerous colors, as you can see it in our album “Starbow”.

C. B. Briefly, tell us about the new album “Starbow”, as was the work of the band for this album and have expectations.

S. M. ”Starbow” means, it’s an album that has a number of aspects of our different kinds of art (or a lot of taste of art), just like a rainbow in outer space.

C. B. What plans do you have this year? (2012)

Iniciando el Año del Dragón en Oriente, contactamos  a K.A.N.T.A. para que nos dijera unas cuantas verdades sobre su música, su punto de vista de su país y su amor por conocer Latinoamérica. - Starting the Year of the Dragon in the East, we have contacted the rapper K.A.N.T.A. to tell us a few truths about his music, his point of view of their country and love to know Latin America.

Con tan sólo 24 años, K.A.N.T.A. se ganó la potestad de ser el hijo de uno de los más grandes DJ japoneses: K.U.D.O. Pero para llegar a ese puesto privilegiado, pasaron 12 años escuchando y grabando en su mente la melodía, el ritmo y el ruido de Londres, entre canciones de The Beatles, las sonoridades de The Beach Boys y la teatralidad de David Bowie, que formaron su personalidad directa y crítica para componer sus letras pero además para tener bases que le permita cuestionar la respuesta del gobierno de su país frente a la catástrofe (la cual aún no acaba); no obstante, sus logros como productor e ingeniero de sonido tienen un alto sello de calidad, al colaborar con el famoso ingeniero de Björk y U2, Howie B, y llegar a ser amigo de James Lavelle para más adelante pertenecer al proyecto musical UNKLE. Y su talento no tiene límites, ya que ha incursionado en el mundo de la moda siendo diseñador y modelo para marcas como Lacoste.

Su más reciente producción se lanzó el pasado 20 de diciembre de 2011, llamada Royal New Standard, con colaboraciones especiales de Carin, Leo Imai y el guitarrista de la famosa banda Simply Red. Pero dejemos que él nos cuente en esta gran entrevista, en exclusiva para Colectivo Bunka para todos ustedes, iniciando el 2012 y de paso, recibiendo al nuevo Año Lunar del Dragón.

Colectivo Bunka. Muchas gracias por asistir a esta entrevista para Colombia y América Latina. En pocas palabras, ¿cómo se reunieron para tocar juntos?

K.A.N.T.A. En realidad, K.A.N.T.A no es una banda. Yo soy K.A.N.T.A., soy el productor, soy el rapero, soy el ingeniero de la mezcla y el sonido.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus mayores influencias musicales?

K. Para mí, las mayores influencias son: The Beatles, David Bowe, Todd Rundgren, The Beach Boys.

C. B. ¿Qué temas inspira a K.AN.T.A. para componer y tocar las canciones?

K. Los temas están enfocados de los hechos políticos que están ocurriendo en el mundo y cómo utilizar tu mente y los momentos que sentí durante mi vida.

C. B. Sabemos de la tragedia sufrida en su país, actualmente Japón vuelve de nuevo a renacer. ¿Cómo sintió este desastre y cuál fue su contribución a la reconstrucción de su país?

K. El terremoto fue el mayor desastre que he visto. Desde ese momento muchas personas han cambiado, pero el país aún no ha renacido. La situación sigue siendo mala, la radiación nuclear está saliendo directamente al mar cada segundo, ahora mismo. El gobierno no está haciendo nada para remediarlo. Lo que están haciendo es darle a la gente esta pequeña máquina para medir la radiación alrededor de la zona de Fukushima pero no está utilizando el dinero para salvar a la gente, está gastando el dinero para realizar diversas pruebas a las personas como ratas.

C. B. Cuéntenos brevemente como está el hip hop en Japón.

K. Hay mucha gente en Japón que creen que están oyendo música hip hop, pero en realidad no están escuchando el verdadero hip hop que más bien suena como J-Pop. También hay una escena underground, pero no estoy interesado en el hip hop japonés, así que no sé.

C. B. ¿Cuál es el rapero más importante de Japón?

K. Diría que el rapero más importante en Japón soy yo (risas).

C. B. Cuéntenos brevemente cómo fue el proceso de producción de Royal New Standard, recientemente lanzado el pasado 20 de diciembre.

K. Toda la producción comenzó en mi cabeza. Quería hacer nueva música para este mundo. El proceso fue muy simple, los sonidos estaban en mi cabeza, así que hice lo necesario para darle forma por lo que me llevó 3 años. En primer lugar se trataba de una demostración y, finalmente, ahora lo estoy lanzando y promoviendo. Tomó tiempo, pero necesitaba ese tiempo para que fuera más real y más original.

C. B. ¿Como son las letras de sus canciones?

K. La letra de mi música son realmente las cosas políticas, y estoy escupiendo sobre cómo usan su mente para formar su propia imagen y así convertirse en lo que quieres. Todo el mundo puede hacerlo y todo el mundo tiene la oportunidad de hacerlo, sólo necesitas acción. Es realmente muy simple, solo, imagen y acción. Yo te digo cómo se puede hacer en muchos sentidos. Eso es todo.

C. B. ¿Quiénes son los invitados que participan en este álbum?

K. Para este álbum aparece Leo Imai, quien es un cantante y un productor. Él firmó con EMI en Japón como artista importante para la disquera. Él es mitad sueco y mitad japonés, crecimos juntos  en el Reino Unido por lo que encajamos en todo. Y presento un legendario guitarrista llamado Kenji Jammer, japonés pero toca en un grupo llamado Simply Red, una famosa banda en el Reino Unido.

C. B. ¿Cuál es su rapero favorito?

K. Mi rapero favorito no es una persona. Son muchas personas, muchos raperos, un montón de puntos que realmente es difícil hablar de una sola persona, pero si digo que la mayoría de los compositores como Nas o Talib Kweli, realmente serían Jay -Z y Kanye.

C. B. Su música ha viajado más allá de las fronteras japonesas. He leído que K.A.N.T.A ha sido muy escuchado en el Reino Unido. ¿Cómo llegó a ganar los corazones y los oídos de los ingleses?

K. Mi musical cruzó las fronteras el año pasado cuando conocí a James Lavelle de UNKLE y me invitó a Londres para hacer un remix juntos. Me fui a Londres a hacer algunos remixes e hizo algunas grabaciones. Me encontré con Howie B y realmente le gustaba mi música. Las personas ajenas de la industria musical y que compran la música todavía no me conocen, así que estoy esperando que este álbum logre tocar sus corazones.

C. B. ¿Cómo te imaginas a K.AN.T.A. en un par de años, en el futuro?

K. En el futuro me veo viviendo en el Reino Unido o en Berlín y voy a ser contratado para un sello disquero grande o algo así y el próximo álbum que estrene estará sonando en las emisoras así como estar nominado en un premio consiguiendo más nominaciones y seré un éxito total a nivel mundial convirtiéndome en el próximo líder de la escena musical.

C. B. Por último, envíenos un saludo para Colectivo Bunka en Colombia.

He’s just only 24 years old; however K.A.N.T.A. got the right to become the son of one of the largest Japanese DJ: K.U.D.O. But to reach this privileged position, he did spent 12 years listening and recording in his mind the melody, rhythm and noise of London between The Beatles’ songs, the sounds of The Beach Boys and the theatricality of David Bowie, who formed his direct and critical personality to write their lyrics but also to have a opinion that will allow to judge the government’s response about the known disaster (which just yet), however, his achievements as a producer and sound engineer are with a high seal of quality by working with the famous engineer of Björk and U2, Howie B and become a friend of James Lavelle for later belong for UNKLE, a musical project. And his talent is limitless, as it has entered the world of fashion being a designer and model for famous brands such as Lacoste in Tokyo.

His most recent production was launched last December 20, 2011, called the Royal New Standard, with special collaborations by Carin, Leo Imai and guitarist of the famous band Simply Red But let him tell us in this great interview, exclusively for Colectivo Bunka to all you, starting in 2012 and by the way, getting the new Lunar Year of the Dragon.

Colectivo Bunka. Thank you very much to attend us in this interview for Colombia and Latin America. Briefly, how did you met to play together?

K.A.N.T.A. Actually,K.A.N.T.A is not a band. K.A.N.T.A is just me, I’m the producer,I’m the rapper, I’m the mix engineer.

C. B. What are your biggest music influences?

K. The biggest influence is The Beatles,David Bowe, Todd Rundgren,The Beach Boys.

C. B. What topics inspires to K.A.N.T.A to compose and play the songs?

K. The topics are the politic things that are happening in the world and how to use your mind and what I felt in the life time.

C. B. We know the tragedy suffered your country, in the current day Japan is reborn again. How you were this tragedy and what was their contribution to the reconstruction of their country?

K. The earthquake was the biggest disaster that I ever seen. From that point a lot of people have changed but the country isn’t reborn yet. The situation is still bad nuclear radiation pouring out every second right now to the sea. The government is not doing anything for it. What they’re doing is giving people this little machine to calculate the radiation around Fukushima area and they’re not using money to save people, they’re spending money to test people like rats.

C. B. Tell us briefly, as it comes Hip Hop in Japan?

K. The hip hop scene in Japan is no quite big and many people in Japan who think they’re listening to hip hop is not listening to real hip hop it’s more like J-Pop. There also this underground scene but I’m not interested in Japanese hip hop so, I don’t know.

C. B. What is the most important rapper of Japan?

K. I would say the most important rapper in japan is me.

C. B. Tell us briefly, how was the production process for Royal New Standard, recently released last December 20^th 2011.

K. The production all started in my head. I wanted to make new music in this world. The process was really simple, the sounds were in my head so I needed it to make it to shape and it took me 3 years. First it was a demo and eventually now I’m releasing it. It took time but I needed that time to make it more real and more original.

C. B. What is it about the lyrics of your songs?

K. The lyrics in my music are really political things and I’m spitting about how to use your mind to make your image to shape and become what you want. Everybody can do it and everybody has the opportunity to do it so you just need to action. It’s really simple just “image” and “action”. I am just telling how you can do it in a lot of ways. That’s all.

C. B. Who are invited to participate in this album?

K. For this album I featured Leo Imai; he’s a vocalist and a producer. He’s signed to EMI in Japan a major label artist. He’s half Swedish half Japanese we grew up in UK so we fit together. And I featured a legendary guitarist called Kenji Jammer he’s Japanese but he plays in a band called Simply Red, a huge band in UK.

C. B. What is your favorite rapper?

K. My favorite rapper is not one person. There’s a lot of people, lot of rappers, lots of points that I really like so it’s hard to say one person but if I say who the most lyricist is then its Nas, Talib Kweli, the flows that I really would be Jay-Z and Kanye.

C. B. Your music has traveled beyond Japanese borders. I have read K.A.N.T.A is ear in UK. How you got to win the hearts and ears of the English people?

K. My music cross bordered last year when I met James Lavelle from UNKLE and he invited me to London to do a remix together. I went to London to do some remixes and did some recordings as well. I met Howie B and he really liked my music. People outside the industry who’s buying the music doesn’t know me yet so I’m looking forward for this album to hit their hearts.

C. B. How you imagine K.A.N.T.A in a couple of years, in the future?

K. I see myself in the future, living in UK or Berlin and I’ll be signed to a big label or something and the next album I release would be rocking the radios as well and I’ll be in the nominated awards getting nominated and will be success full globally and become the next leader.

C. B. Finally, you send us a greeting to Colectivo Bunka in Colombia.

K. You what are Colectivo Bunka and all my people in Colombia and Latin America, thanks for reading this interview. I want to send all my love to the world! Peace!

Informamos a toda nuestra amable audiencia que los miembros del Colectivo Bunka finalizaron sus actividades el pasado 18 de diciembre, esto significa que el programa de radio Bunka, Sonidos de Oriente entrará a un receso vacacional por las fiestas de fin de año. No obstante, pedimos públicamente disculpas debido a las constantes fallas técnicas presentadas recientemente en el mes de Diciembre, pero lamentablemente en Colombia, sede del equipo técnico base de emisión del programa radial, está padeciendo el más crudo y violento periodo de lluvias (conocido como el invierno) el cual ha dejado una estela de destrucción e inundaciones, los cuales han afectado nuestra labor para llevarles a ustedes lo mejor de Asia en un solo lugar.

Regresaremos el 21 de enero, con la esperanza no sólo de tener un mejor clima ambiental para trabajar sino además con un espíritu renovado, con más información, música y secciones para el deleite de todos y todas que nos han seguido en este año que acaba.

We notice all our friendly audience about Colectivo Bunka’s members completed their activities on December 18^th; this means that the Bunka Sonidos de Oriente radio show in Spanish will enter a break for the holidays this year. However, we apologize publicly because of constant technical failures recently presented in the month of December, but unfortunately in Colombia, in the core technical team of the radio program broadcast, are suffering the most crude and violent rainy season (known as the winter), which has left a trail of destruction and floods which have affected our work to bring you the best of Asia in one place.

We will return on January 21^st, hoping not only to have a better weather in Colombia but also to work with a renewed spirit, with more information, music and sections to the delight of everyone who have followed us this year ends.

Bo-Peep es de esas bandas que detestan la rutina y el tedio decidiendo incursionar con su algarabía, su estridencia y su pasión en cada escenario, canción y entrevista. Este trío de chicas que actualmente viven en Tokio, surgieron en los inicios del nuevo siglo para sacudir un poco los oídos del creciente movimiento indie nipón hacia el otro lado del planeta. Y lo están logrando.

La voz fuerte y contundente de Mika Yoshimura junto con el talento en la percusión de Ryoko Nakano formaron esta banda cuando estudiaban juntas en el colegio, en la ciudad de Hakata. Luego, la bajista Junko Himei completa esta trinidad musical, la cual salieron a sacudir cabezas y oídos siendo actualmente muy populares en el Reino Unido. Pero su consagración la lograron al ser invitadas internacionales en el selecto cartel del festival South By South West (SXSW) en el 2009, en el que la prensa especializada centrara sus obturadores, lentes y oídos para atrapar su sonido, su música y su energía en el escenario. No en vano las han catalogado como las nuevas reinas del grunge indie oriental, en el que hasta el más prestigioso e influyente diario The New York Times les dedicara una reseña, la cual lograron que Bo-Peep regresaran al año siguiente a recorrer las autopistas y los escenarios de los Estados Unidos para promocionar un álbum que hoy en día les está abriendo con su potente melodía las puertas del mundo musical: Vibe, producido por 3^rd Stone from the Sun, cuyas siete canciones son en realidad una dosis sonora para rockear nuestros sentidos de inicio a fin. Ahora la banda está en un merecido receso, disfrutando la alegría de la baterista en su nuevo rol de mamá. Con ellas hablamos en este tiempo en el que sólo resta un par de días para terminar el 2011 y donde ya el invierno se aproxima rápidamente.

Colectivo Bunka. Muchas gracias por atendernos en esta entrevista para Colombia y Latinoamérica. Brevemente, ¿cómo fue que se reunieron para tocar juntas?

Bo-Peep. El grupo se formó en Hakata, al norte de la región de Kyushu. Mika y Ryoko son amigas desde la escuela, pertenecían a algunas bandas juntas. Luego, la bajista Himei se unió a nosotras y así nació Bo-Peep en el año 2000.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus mayores influencias musicales?

B. P. Todas nosotras vivimos de las bandas de la década de los 90’s, por ejemplo: Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Pavement, etc.

C. B. ¿Qué temas inspira a Bo-Peep para componer y tocar las canciones?

B. P. Cuando vemos un buen show en vivo o escuchamos la música que nos hace bailar y gritar. Cuando vemos buenas películas. Cuando me siento a tocar la guitarra. Cuando conduzco en una bicicleta escuchando mi música favorita en un día soleado. Cualquier cosa que nos inspire.

C. B. Sabemos que la tragedia sufrida en su país; actualmente Japón está renaciendo. ¿Cómo ustedes sintieron esta tragedia y cuál ha sido su contribución para la reconstrucción de su país?

B. P. Verificando toda la información que hay disponible, el mayor apoyo que podemos hacer como banda y como persona. Eso es realmente importante para actuar. Creemos que tenemos que reclamar al gobierno más atención para las víctimas a que recuperen sus vidas, y también para el futuro de este país.

C. B. Su música ha viajado más allá de las fronteras japonesas. He leído que Bo-Peep es muy popular en Reino Unido. ¿Cómo han llegado a ganar los corazones y oídos de los ingleses?

B. P. Bo-Peep concede gran importancia a su sonido y a sus presentaciones en vivo, además de establecer una melodía y sus letras atractivas. Creo que los ingleses han sentido eso en nuestra música, a pesar de las diferencias idiomáticas.

C. B.En la historia de Bo-Peep, ¿cuál ha sido el concierto más importante que nunca lo olvidarán? ¿Por qué?

B. P. Eso fue en un espectáculo en vivo de nuestra primera gira por el Reino Unido. Después de ese show lleno de energía y muy emocionante, dejamos una gran impresión convirtiéndose la mejor presentación que hayamos hecho.

C. B. ¿Ustedes conocen o han escuchado algún músico o banda latinoamericana? (Si su respuesta es no, ¿qué les gustaría saber de Latinoamérica en cuanto a su música?)

B. P. Nos hicimos amigos de una banda brasileña llamada Canjarave en el SXSW 2009.

C. B. Como músicos, ¿cuáles son sus opiniones sobre el movimiento J-indie de todo el mundo en la actualidad?

B. P.Nos alegra que las bandas japonesas son cada vez más reconocida en otros países, pero todavía hay muchas buenas bandas en Japón que no se han presentado internacionalmente; esperamos que más bandas japonesas se puedan dar a conocer a nivel internacional.

C. B. Les enviamos un mensaje de felicitación a Ryoko en su nuevo rol como mamá. ¿Cómo ha sido para ella este nuevo paso en su vida? ¿Cómo este maravilloso evento tendrá influencia en Bo-Peep?

B. P. (Ryoko) Gracias por su mensaje. Dar a luz a mi bebé fue lo mejor y lo más feliz que ha pasado en mi vida. En el primer momento que vi la cara de mi bebé, sentí que tenía que protegerlo de las cosas, por eso tengo que ser fuerte. Creo que esta emoción se mostrará pronto en el sonido de nuestra banda.

C. B. Su más reciente concierto fue el pasado verano en la Batalla de las Bandas junto con Detroit 7. ¿Cuál es la relación de ambos grupos con ustedes y además con otras bandas en su país?

B. P. Con Detroit 7 los conocemos de hace mucho tiempo. No sólo su música nos inspira, sino que también somos buenos amigos para beber y conversar. Siempre habrá una banda amiga para hablar de música o hacer locuras.

C. B. Ustedes estuvieron en una gira por los Estados Unidos promocionando su más reciente álbum Vibe el año pasado, ¿qué anécdotas y recuerdos inolvidables nos pueden contar de este gran tour?

B. P. Muchas cosas. En Texas, en el camino de Austin a Houston, estábamos manejando en la madrugada y de repente el vehículo se quedó sin gasolina, y para colmo, nos perdimos. Eso fue inolvidable (risas). Además, cuando tocamos en un supermercado, no había un paral para micrófono así que pusimos el micrófono en un carrito de compras y empezamos a tocar. Durante nuestro viaje por carretera desde Los Ángeles a Texas, hacíamos varias escalas y tocamos en varios lugares. La sorprendente naturaleza que veíamos cuando viajábamos fue también inolvidable para nosotras. Además, recordamos muy bien que en un día tocamos tres conciertos en Austin (risas).

C. B. Sobre sus 10 años de carrera musical, ¿cuáles fueron los aspectos que marcaron Bo-Peep para el éxito musical tanto en Japón como en algunos países internacionales?

B. P. Desde que hemos tocado y nos hemos presentado en muchos lugares ganamos un poco de experiencia; nuestra visión, estilo y sonido ahora son más claros logrando tener confianza en nuestra música para todos nuestros fans.

C. B. ¿Qué planes tiene el próximo año?

B. P. Aún no hemos decidido. Vamos a esperar el regreso de Ryoko, y luego empezaremos a componer nuevas canciones.

C. B. ¿Cómo se imaginan a Bo-Peep en un par de años, en el futuro?

B. P. Un nuevo álbum será lanzado y nuestros conciertos serán más poderosos. Irnos de gira internacional, tocar frente a una gran audiencia.

B. P. Primero lo primero, que lo disfruten (tocando música).

Bo-Peep is one of those bands that hate routine and boredom, so they decided to enter with their racket, their stridency and their passion in every scene, song and interview. This trio of girls currently living in Tokyo, raised in the early of new century to shake a bit the ears of indie Nippon growing movement toward the other side of the planet. And they are succeeding.

Loud and resounding voice of Mika Yoshimura and the talent in percussion of Ryoko Nakano formed this band while studying together at high school in the city of Hakata. Then the bass player Junk Himei completes this trinity musical, which went to shake heads and ears being currently very popular in the United Kingdom. But her consecration is achieved when were chose such as international guest for the festival lineup select SXSW in 2009, where the press focused their shutters, lenses and ears to catch their sound, their music and their energy in the stage. Not in vain have been labeled as the new queen of indie grunge East, where even the most prestigious and influential The New York Times dedicated a review, which ensured that Bo-Peep return next year to travel around the highways and scenarios of the United States to promote an album that today they are opening with its powerful melody of the music world doors: Vibe, produced by 3^rd Stone from the Sun, whose seven songs are actually a sound dose to rock our senses from start to finish. Now the band is on a well deserved break, enjoying the happiness of the drummer in her new role as mom. With them we speak at this time it remains only a couple of days to finish this year and where the winter is fast approaching.

Colectivo Bunka. Thank you very much to attend us in this interview for Colombia and Latin America. Briefly, how did you met to play together?

Bo-Peep. Formed in Hakata, the north of Kyushu region. Mika and Ryoko are friends since school, belonged to some bands together. Then, the bassist Himei joined us and formed Bo-Peep in 2000.

C. B. What are your biggest music influences?

B. P. All of us live the bands from 90s. For example: Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Rage against the Machine, Radiohead, Pavement, etc.

C. B. What topics inspires to Bo-Peep to compose and play the songs?

B. P. When we see cool live-show or listen to the music that makes us dance and shout. When we watch some good movies. When I feel like playing guitar. When I ride a bicycle listening to the music on a sunny day… Anything inspirational.

C. B. We know the tragedy suffered your country, in the current day Japan is reborn again. How you were this tragedy and what was their contribution to the reconstruction of their country?

B. P. Checking all the actual information, as much support we can do, as a band and as a person. Those are really important. I think, we need to reclaim the government more, for the victims to get back their lives, and also for the future of this country.

C. B. Your music has traveled beyond Japanese borders. I have read Bo-Peep is very popular in UK. How you got to win the hearts and ears of the English people?

B. P. Bo-Peep placed great importance on its sound and performance, which is also linked to the lyrics and melodies. I think English people felt that, in spite of the language difference.

C. B. In the history of Bo-Peep, which has been the most important concert and never have forgotten? Why?

B. P. That would be a live-show in our first UK tour. After that energetic and exciting show, we broke through and our performance became way better.

C. B. Did you know or did you hear any Latin America band or musician? (If your answer is no, what would you like to know of Latin America about your music?)

B. P. We made friends with a Brazilian band called Canjarave in SXSW 2009.

C. B. As musicians, what are your opinions about the J-indie movement around the world in the present day?

B. P. We’re glad that Japanese band are more and more recognized in other countries, but there’s still so many good bands in Japan that haven’t been introduced to the world yet! We hope more Japanese bands become active internationally.

C. B. We send a message of congratulation for Ryoko in her new role as mom. How has it been for her this new step in her life? How did this wonderful event will influence to Bo-Peep?

B. P. (Ryoko) Thank you for your message. Giving birth to my baby was the best and happiest thing happened to me in my life. At the first moment I saw the face of my baby, I felt that I have to protect him from things, I have to be stronger. I think this feeling will show in our band’s sound.

C. B. Her most recent concert was last summer at the Battle of the Bands with Detroit 7. What was the relationship both with themselves and with other bands in your country?

B. P. Detroit 7, we’ve known them for a long time. Not only their music inspires us, but also they’re good buddies to drink and talk with! There’s some other friend band to discuss music or do crazy things together.

C. B. You were in a tour around the United States promoting your latest album Vibe last year, what stories and unforgettable memories can tell us of this great American tour?

B. P. Yeah, in Texas, on the way to Austin from Houston… midnight drive, running out of gas, and what is more, we got lost. That was unforgettable. Also, when we played in a supermarket, there’s no microphone stand so we put a microphone on a shopping cart and played. During our driving from LA to Texas, we stopped by and played in several places. The amazing nature we saw on our way that was unforgettable as well. Also, it was a good memory that we played three concerts in a day in Austin.

C. B. About her 10 year musical career, what were those aspects that marked Bo-Peep for musical success as in Japan as in some international countries?

B. P. Since we’ve played in many places and had some experience, our vision, style and sound get clearer and we became more confident on our music.

C. B. What plans do you have next year?

B. P. We haven’t decided yet. We will wait Ryoko’s comeback and then start to make new songs.

C. B. How you imagine Bo-Peep in a couple of years, in the future?

B. P. New album will be released and our performance will get more powerful. We will go to international tour, play in front of a big audience.

C. B.  What advice would you give the people who have bands and are dedicated to play J-music in Latin America?

B. P. First things first; enjoy playing.

Tras los pasos de este consagrado guitarrista japonés que recientemente visitó nuestro continente, llevándose una grata impresión de nuestra gente y con ansias de volver a tocar en Latinoamérica. Primera crónica de Miyavi durante su estadía en Buenos Aires. - Behind the footsteps of the devoted Japanese guitarist who recently visited our continent, taking a beautiful impression of our people and he wish to play in Latin America again. First chronicle about Miyavi when he played in Buenos Aires.

La primavera bonaerense abrazaba con sus contornos verdes de los arboles la poderosa fuerza del sol; postrimerías de un día martes, cuya radiante atmósfera se manifestaba cada vez más entre aquéllos que recorriendo las calles, se animaban -bajo un impulso mágico- a sonreír en medio de la furiosa metrópoli; esa era la esencia transformadora de la primavera… ella misma había guiado nuestros pasos hasta aquel lugar; y no sólo los nuestros, sino también de todos aquellos que sabían que esta no era una fecha más en el calendario. Desde muy tempranas horas se habían dado cita en las inmediaciones del Teatro Colegiales un numeroso grupo de fanáticos del J-rock, soportando una espera de varias horas, quizás días o meses desde el anuncio de que Buenos Aires estaba nuevamente entre las ciudades privilegiadas dentro de la gira mundial de Miyavi.

El nerviosismo aumentaba a medida que la fila de ingreso rodeaba la manzana; el sol –cada vez más naranja- daba paso a un atardecer deslumbrante e inolvidable, los dos años de espera eran pocos comparados con el sentimiento de saber que él estaría allí… What’s My Name?, era una pregunta que rondaba, no sólo en la mente, sino en los sentidos de todos los que formábamos pacientemente para entrar. De repente, los gritos rompieron los murmullos que hasta entonces era la voz de la fila de ingreso… miramos, ¡y ahí estaba él! Sí, Miyavi en persona había decidido entrar como uno más caminando entre la multitud; histeria, besos, palmas al aire y una lluvia de obturadores que se cerraban sobre su espectro, sobre su imagen.

Las puertas se abrieron y mientras uno a uno ingresaban, saludamos a los organizadores de Volumen 4, con la expectativa de lo que en pocos segundos surgiría sobre el escenario una tenue luz roja, iluminando la batería y una solitaria guitarra que daba a entrever lo que sería un excelente y único momento. Algunos cánticos, arengas y algarabía invocaban su presencia… y entonces… ¡apareció! ¡Miyavi! cobijado por la bandera argentina en un signo de cálido agradecimiento. Habían pasado 24 meses desde su última visita a la capital federal, y ahora todos en una sola voz entonaban su nombre. Instantáneamente, sus primero acordes sonaron y surgió la respuesta a aquella mítica pregunta What’s My Name?, en forma de canción y con centenares de voces respondiéndola.

Luego, una a una: Moon, Universe, Say No No No y Selfish Love, deleitaron a los fans de siempre y algunos nuevos que se sumaron en esta presentación al amplio espectro de seguidores que poco a poco crecen en nuestro continente. Hendrix, Segovia, Santana, Slash, todas luminarias históricas de esa cómplice y compañera llamada guitarra, ahora vibraba de nuevo sobre el escenario elevando (o confirmando) ante nuestros oídos y sentidos a Miyavi como uno de ellos, sobre todo cuando -sin dejar de tocar- la llevó detrás de su cuello haciendo estremecer al público.

Euforia, sentimiento y sobre todo talento se vivió en ese histórico concierto; un acontecimiento musical que había durado mucho tiempo en repetirse y del cual el mismo Miyavi se sorprendió al ver nuevos seguidores de su música pero también a aquellos fieles fans que los ha embrujado antes con su guitarra, un gesto que sin lugar a dudas lo conmovió. Interacción con el público, un excelente sonido y un magnífico repertorio nos llevaron a contestar esa gran pregunta, título de su gira mundial, el cual se respondió sobre el escenario en cuerpo y música, en talento y alegría.

La noche terminaría con What a Wonderful World, no sin darnos el mejor de los recuerdos: una vez acabado el concierto, sus fans esperaron a que él saliera del recinto para, acto seguido, demostrarle que hay Miyavi para todos. Un nuevo encuentro a manera de despedida en el que este grandioso artista oriental recorre el mundo como un bushido musical gracias a su talento; no en vano se ganó el muy merecido abolengo de ser la guitarra samurái. De ese modo, Miyavi dejó el país gaucho a la espera de una nueva oportunidad para regresar a estremecer los oídos de los argentinos, y de los latinoamericanos pronto, tal como sucedió en esa primavera bonaerense.

Buenos Aires Spring green contours hugged the trees the powerful force of sun a day late Tuesday, radiant atmosphere which increasingly manifested among those walking the streets, cheering, under a magical impulse to smile in the middle the raging metropolis. That was the transformative essence of spring… she had guided our steps to the place, and not only ours but also of all those who knew that this was not a date on the calendar. From very early hours had gathered near the Colegiales Theatre a large group of J-rock fans, supporting a wait of several hours, perhaps days or months from the announcement that Buenos Aires was again among the privileged cities within Miyavi’s world tour.

The nervousness increased as the rank of income around the block, the sun-growing orange- gave way to an sunset dazzling and unforgettable, the two years of waiting were few compared to the feeling of knowing that he would be there … What’s My Name?, was a question that haunted, not only in the mind but in the senses that we were all patiently to enter. Suddenly, cries broke murmurs until then was voice row income … we look, and there he! Yes, Miyavi himself had decided to enter as one walking among the crowd; hysteria, kisses, clapping the air and a shower of shutters that close on the spectrum, over his image.

The doors has opened and entered as one by one, we salute the organizers of Volumen 4, with the expectation of what would emerge in a few seconds on stage a dim red light, illuminating the battery and a lone guitar that gave a glimpse of what would be an excellent and unique moment. Some songs, speeches and excitement invoked his presence … and then … appeared! Miyavi! Sheltered by the flag of Argentina in a warm sign of appreciation. It had been 24 months since his last visit to the federal capital, and now all in one voice chanted his name. Instantly, his first chords sounded and appeared the answer to that mythical question What’s My Name?, in song and with hundreds and voices answered.

Then, one by one: Moon, Universe, Say No No No and Selfish Love, delighted longtime fans and new ones who joined in this presentation to the broad spectrum of fans who gradually grow in our continent. Hendrix, Segovia, Santana, Slash, all that historical musical stars with those accomplice and companion called guitar, now rang again on the rising stage (or confirming) before our ears and senses to Miyavi as one of them, especially when, still playing, the back of his neck was shaken by the public.

Euphoria, feeling and particularly talent are lived in that historic concert, a musical event that lasted a long time and which repeated the same Miyavi, was surprised to see new attendees of his music but also to those loyal fans that has haunted before with his guitar, a gesture that certainly touched him. Interaction with the public, excellent sound and a great repertoire led us to answer that big question, the title of his world tour, which is said on stage, body and music, talent and joy.

The night would end with What a Wonderful World, not without giving us the best memories: after finishing the concert, fans waited for him to leave the enclosure, immediately afterwards, there Miyavi show for everyone. A new way of farewell meeting in which this great oriental artist travels the world as a musical bushido thanks to his talent, not in vain earned the well deserved pedigree to be the guitar samurai. Thus, Miyavi left the gaucho country waiting for a new opportunity to return to shake the Argentineans and Latin Americans ears soon, as happened in the spring of Buenos Aires.
